A couple of weeks ago Jackson got to take his first walk. The weather was beautiful and I just couldn't resist packing him up in the stroller and hitting the neighborhood up. At first he seemed shocked that a different world existed outside of our home and doctors offices. After about ten minutes he was asleep. We took a walk again the very next day and he was much more excited the second round. It makes me anxious for his lock down to be over so I can take him outside all the time.
Weaning off the oxygen is going amazing to be honest. I say that as I knock on wood. It just seems so hard to believe that we are at that point already. Every evening he is staying off of it for a couple of hours during the work week. During the weekend this big guy is staying off of the oxygen for up to six hours. We follow up with the neonatoligist this week to discuss more steps in getting him completely off the oxygen. The same day we have a developmental appointment the same day. That I am super nervous about. Jacksons head control is not where it needs to be. I blame this mostly on his prematurity and also his lack of tummy time we do with him. The think the hernia bothers him so much he just screams his head off every time we try. Don't get me wrong we still do tummy time everyday just not as often. I am hoping after his surgery he will do better with tummy time. I am excited to show off his mad skills in grabbing his toys. He loves his keys!!!!
Overall everything is good in our neck of the woods. Oh and I also forgot to mention that I got a new job. I am super excited to go somewhere that has much better hours along with many other reasons. I am glad things are looking up :) Thanks for checking in on Jackson!!!
